Scientific and Technical Recruitment was founded in 1987 when Managing Director, Dr. Lynley Watson, identified a real need for a company specialising in scientific and technical recruitment, as most general employment consultancies did not understand the job market in these sectors. This need has grown in recent years as the boom in the engineering and manufacturing sectors has fostered the on-going introduction of new technologies that require highly-skilled technical personnel. Today, Scientific and Technical Recruitment is still a leading personnel recruitment consultancy in New Zealand that specialises in placing skilled candidates in technical and scientific roles.
For candidates, we look beyond your qualifications to understand your background and find the type of job and company that will suit you. For employers, we identify your company culture and ensure that we understand your industry and human resource requirements so that we find someone who is an excellent “fit” for you. And we don’t just rely on what looks good on paper – our candidate assessment is structured and thorough, including candidate and team analysis tools such as Psychometric Testing or Assessment Centres.
Our team of consultants all have qualifications in either a scientific, medical or engineering discipline and extensive industry experience in Research & Development, Laboratory Management, pure Scientific Research, Health, Scientific and Technical Sales; Project Management, Engineering and General Management. This combination of qualifications and work experience ensures that we have a sound knowledge of this job market, accumulated over almost two decades in the business.
