Our client is a leading biotechnology company which discovers, develops and delivers technology solutions to the global life science research and bioproduction markets, enabling advances across the biological sciences, health, forensic, analytical  agricultural and environmental sectors.

They currently seek an outstanding performer to join them as their Technical Development Scientist at their expanding operation in Christchurch. The person will provide:
• Technical support in the development of new and existing methods and processes in production and quality control.
• Support in the transfer of procedures and processes.
• Assistance in process optimization
• Troubleshooting assistance
• Technical support to manufacturing/ Production
• Project planning and implementation
• Scale up and technology transfer to commercial operations
• Documentation in accordance to quality standards
• Maintenance and calibration of experimental equipment/ software

To be successful in this position will require passion, intellectual curiosity and a sense of urgency.  In addition, you will need to bring:
• A tertiary science qualification, preferably PhD in Protein Chemistry, Biochemistry or related discipline
• Protein purification experience of minimum 3 years  in either academic or commercial environment
• Understanding of cGMP/ ISO and safety and environmentally  regulated environment.
• Ability to work as an effective and positive team member
• Have flexibility to serve to the needs of the business
• Ability to use word processing and statistical software
